5 New Standard Decks With Karlov Manor by Mogged
Karlov Manor: A New Standard Season
Hi everyone!
The new set is here, and in this article, I will be introducing new decks that are now possible with some of the best cards from the set. I consider most of these already competitive, but only time will tell. I think the uncommons of the set are really powerful and will impact the Standard metagame for sure.

2 Strangle | $0.35 | |
1 Nahiri's Warcrafting | $0.49
2 Twisted Fealty | $0.35 | |
4 Urabrask's Forge | $4.99 |
One of the most obvious decks to build, since we got a lot of new shiny cards, is the one I really wanted to include Lightning Helix in. Unfortunately, we don’t have good enough mana to maintain untapped sources for such an aggressive deck early on.

I think Fugitive Codebreaker is one of the best cards in the set, and Pyrotechnic Performer actually provides the burn reach we've been missing to completely abandon the board and start focusing on the opponent's life total during the late game.
Monstrous Rage responding to the trigger of Pyrotechnic Performer for the flip will enhance it to deal 6 damage with its ability, and then we can attack with a 6-power trampler.

Another aggressive deck—this time using Warleader's Call with incredible token synergy—or Bunnicorn to close out the game.
Sideboard? Oh my god, it's Lightning Helix... to fight creature decks, and Urabrask's Forge to fight decks with boardwipes.

4 End the Festivities | $1.99
1 Rebel Salvo | $0.35 | |
1 Negate | $0.35 |
Cryptic Coat is a very powerful card. I'm not sure if this is the build for it, since I can see so many ways to use this effect. What it offers is the ability to never run out of threats by bouncing and replaying, which is ideal in a deck that tries to make enemy removal ineffective.
Gleaming Geardrake is just the perfect enabler for all these artifact decks since it gives you 2 artifacts and can possibly become a real threat.
There are many synergies within this deck, with the biggest payoff being Saheeli and Zoetic Glyph.
For the sideboard, you have a control plan to either fight big decks with counters or small aggro decks with red removal.

1 Elspeth's Smite | $0.35
2 Aurelia's Vindicator | $0.99
2 Disdainful Stroke | $0.35 |
This is a known strategy that isn't popular at all. I think having No More Lies is huge for the deck since making them disappear wasn't reliable at all without many creatures to sacrifice.
I think having no more lies is huge for the deck
Doorkeeper Thrull is an interesting sideboard card against domain and Knight-Errant of Eos decks, since opponents will take out all their removal and have their abilities countered.
Aurelia's Vindicator is also a nice addition because opponents tend to abandon removal, allowing you to maintain a strong clock with lifelink.

2 Melira, the Living Cure | $0.49
2 Aurelia's Vindicator | $0.99
2 Pick Your Poison | $0.35 |
Buried in the Garden is the 4 mana play to lead to Storm the Festival. It's also great to grab with it, since you want your value card to be able to fetch answers as well.
You get bonus synergy points for triggering ETBs twice with Elesh Norn.
Tolsimir, Midnight’s Light is also a good 5 cmc creature to grab with Storm the Festival.
Final words
Lightning Helix and No More Lies are the best cards in the set for Standard and can be used in all kinds of decks, from aggro to control. This means there are many deckbuilding options and strategies to discover. By the way, for those looking to stay on top of the latest meta developments, I highly recommend checking out my Patreon. ;)
