A Massive Tournament

The highly anticipated MagicCon 2023 is set to host a grand Limited Open tournament with a whopping $100,000 prize pool. The Las Vegas $100,000 Limited Open will take place from September 22-24, 2023, and features a cap of 2,000 entrants, making it a more than welcome massive competitive event for Magic: The Gathering enthusiasts.

The tweet announcement from William Jensen (WotC) has generated significant excitement amongst the gaming community, and fans are eager to see the return of such large-scale open competitive tournaments.

The Las Vegas $100,000 Limited Open will not only offer a generous prize pool, but also at least eight invites to the first Pro Tour of 2024 (All players with 36 match points, a match record of 12–2 or better, or a Top 8 finish, whichever is greater, qualify for the Pro Tour.)

The multi-day event will feature various Limited formats, including eight rounds of Wilds of Eldraine Sealed on Day 1, two three-round Wilds of Eldraine drafts on Day 2, and a single-elimination Wilds of Eldraine draft for the Top 8 competitors on the final day. All participants must possess MagicCon: Las Vegas badges for Friday and Saturday, with Top 8 competitors receiving a Sunday badge if necessary.

With a limited number of 2,000 slots available, interested players are encouraged to plan ahead and secure their spot in the tournament as soon as registration opens on June 15 at mtgfestivals.com. The entry fee for the event is set at $160, and considering last year's Magic 30 in Las Vegas sold out, fans are urged to act fast to avoid disappointment.

Price Payout

According to the Wizards' site, this will be the payout:

The Las Vegas $100,000 Limited Open promises to be an unforgettable event, offering the opportunity for talented players to showcase their skills, compete for a share of the $100,000 prize pool, and potentially secure a coveted invite to the first Pro Tour of 2024. As the gaming community eagerly anticipates MagicCon 2023, there's no doubt that the Las Vegas $100,000 Limited Open will be a highlight of the convention.
